These screenshots are indeed real. Because it is still only milestone 1, Microsoft are working on the inner bits first, and working on the GUI later, which is why it still looks very 'vista-ery'

PS I have a copy of this build so I can confirm these are indeed legit :)

Stop whining about UAC.. Just click the quick button and get over it.. Complaining about one click is stupid.

I have an Lenovo Y500 series laptop with Windows Vista installed. In the Device Drivers, under Network Adapters, there is a device named 6T04 Adapter and it has the yellow exclamation point by it. When I try to update the driver it tells me that it already has the latest driver loaded.

What is this thing, and why won't it work?

Should i uninstall this or not?
If Yes then how will i get it back?

John Macintyre blogged about the UAC requirement here: http://blogs.msdn.com/livemesh/archive/2008/04/28/get-mesh-and-why-we-require-uac.aspx . The problem comes down to an "unfortunate design oversight" in Vista where per-user COM registration is not accessible unless UAC is enabled. The Live Mesh team made the decision to block their *per-user install* (very cool) if UAC was disabled since most of Mesh wouldn't work without COM. The COM team is supposedly fixing (fixed?) the "design oversight" in Vista SP1. Hopefully, that will enable Live Mesh to remove the UAC requirement and work correctly on Vista SP1 per-user.

Anything that is not hardware or something like wireshark or nero, I will not install as admin, if I really need an app, I will unpack it and install by hand (Live Messenger, Opera, Safari/iTunes/Quicktime, games(+cdcrack) work without ever having admin access) The only mainstream app I can think of that installs perfectly as non admin is Skype
