Windows Ultimate Extras

Josh over at Windows Connected has made an excellent post about the complete lack of initiative from Microsoft with their Ultimate Extras program.  It seems that the team is either doing nothing or has been disbanded and the UE project abandoned, which pretty much defeats the marketing for ultimate.

IMO it’s a real shame that after 7 months of being released all Microsoft has to show in the UE department is a poker game, bitlocker enhancements and a Dreamscene PREVIEW that causes crashes left right and center.

Microsoft, this is to you.  Get with the program and start giving your users what they want.  Stop promising us the Longhorn and giving us the Vista.

Not sure if I understand all you said, but Longhorn IS Vista. Longhorn was just the code name while in beta.

Chris123NT says:

LOL I know Longhorn is Vista. What I mean to say is look at what MS demoed pre-Longhorn code reset, and look at what they brought forth after the reset. Two totally different code bases and Longhorn was the more feature rich OS IMO (pre-reset of course).

Max says:

Totally agree. There was a beta at some point, but everything seems dead now. It’s shameful to see nothing actually coming out of this.
