Well it seems that the MSNBC columnist, Gary Krakow, has posted his “review” of Windows Vista beta 2 today. He claims that beta 2 is a wreck, and that the combination of Vista and his hardware was like “oil and water”.

First off I’d like to point something pretty big out. He claims to be reviewing beta 2 but I can say with a fair amount of confidence that he is NOT reviewing build 5384.4, but rather 5308.17 which was the last build made available to the press such as Gary. The fact that gives this away is the screenshot on the first page of his review (if you even want to call that sorry ass thumbnail a screenshot). In the screenshot you can clearly see the World Clock gadget as well as the Launcher gadget, both of which were removed after 5308/5342.

Second of all I’d like to state that if he did review 5308 then his article means NOTHING at this point. 5308 was a wreck. It hated most hardware and getting it to run stable was a challenge to say the least. I feel that he should either redo his review based on the proper build (5384.4), or be shunned from the tech writing community. His findings are rediculous and if the article is any indication, he doesn’t know his ass from his elbow when it comes to Vista.
