Microsoft has announced that Retail availability of Windows Vista will be delayed to January from the previous date of November. Corporate customers, however, will still be able to get their copies of Vista in November. Which now places RTM somewhere in the October timeframe. Who knows, maybe there will be time for the OEM’s to get Vista on new PC’s for the Christmas buying craze.

The folks over at minimsft seem to be in a rage over this, and rightfully so. As they say over there, cutting WinFS and many of Longhorn’s key features was embarrasment enough, now they want to delay?! And oh to add a comment of my own, they don’t seem too interested in giving their testers enough builds (or working builds for that matter) to effectively test Vista and really make a difference.
